Steel Frame Alliance (SFA) provides engineering, detailing, procurement, fabrication, and erection of the structural steel frame for large or complex structures nationwide.
- Steel Procurement
- Concrete Foundations
- Concrete Floors
- Steel Stairs
With this design-build approach to the structural frame, SFA will analyze your building project to determine the best design — from the standpoint of optimum column spacing, floor-to-floor height, and other critical clearances — and provide the most economical selection of structural steel framing members.
The economics of framing member selection takes into consideration both "weight" and "wait." Unlike the traditional approach of specifying steel based on weight alone — relying on the steel mill to produce the steel members specified with no control over production schedule and ultimate cost — SFA specifies its steel from SFA member company Chaparral's special design-build inventory, called Fast-Frame™. This allows SFA to guarantee price and availability at the time of the proposal — and to provide unmatched turnaround time.
The prime contract for work performed by SFA is held by parent company Constructive Engineering Design, Inc. (CED). CED is a Kansas City-based structural engineering firm which specializes in steel structures and design-build. CED's senior staff average 20 years experience in the design and construction industry. Each senior staff member is a professional engineer (P.E.) with either a master's degree or Ph.D. in their field, and is an established leader in their area of emphasis.
